    Course Description
    The Liturgical Year and Catechesis
    Using the General Norms for the Liturgical Year and the Calendar as a resource Catechists will
    understand more fully the entire mystery of Jesus Christ, from his incarnation and birth until his ascension, the day of Pentecost, and the expectation of his return in glory.
    • understand the Church’s Liturgical Calendar as an ever-deepening immersion into the mystery of Jesus Christ
    • relate the cycles of the liturgical year to the Christian faith journey.
    • demonstrate how the cycles of the liturgical year enrich catechesis.

    'Learn From Me'- Launch Day-Vaughan House

    'Learn From Me' -Certificate Courses All 3 formation courses are run by Maryvale Institute. Developed in partnership with the Maryvale Institute in Birmingham, and in response to many conversations and requests within the Diocese, the ‘Learn From Me’ formation programme seeks to reach three specific groups in your parish. All are distance-learning courses with study days at Vaughan House.

    Certificate Courses Available: 
    Certificate in Parish Mission and Ministry 
    This one year course is designed for those interested in formation in collaborative ministry in parishes, both those already involved in parish ministries as well as parishioners who hesitate to volunteer their services without formation.

    Cost £675 and £25 registration fee.

    Certificate in Catechesis

    This 2 year course is open to any adult who would like to deepen their knowledge and understanding of their faith so that they can confidently hand it on to others, either formally as catechists or informally as parishioners.

    Cost £675 per year and £25 registration fee.

    A Catechesis on Marriage and Family

    This six-month part-time Catechesis, including Study Days with tutors from Maryvale at Vaughan House, as well as the pastoral support of the Marriage and Family Life team at the Agency for Evangelisation, is designed for those involved in the ministry of Marriage Preparation and for anyone with a desire to understand more of the Church’s beautiful teaching on marriage and the family.

    Cost £455 and £25 registration fee

    A series of evenings took place on 29th, 30th and 31st January in 3 different locations. Applications are still open (see below)

    Launch and Study Day: 
    The Formation Programme will be launched on Saturday 9th March 2019 beginning with registration at 9.30am in Vaughan House. The day includes Mass in Westminster Cathedral Crypt at 11.00am celebrated by Bishop Nicholas Hudson. At this Mass the participants on each course will be blessed and commissioned. You would be very welcome to join them for this important moment. Mass will be followed by lunch and the first Study Afternoon.
