  • ALPHA INTRODUCTION DAYS – 7, 14 JULY 2018
    Time:10:00am - 4:00pm
    Venue:Saint Joan of Arc Catholic School, High St, Rickmansworth WD3 1HG, UK

    The Agency for Evangelisation in partnership with Alpha UK has arranged for two ‘Introduction Days’ for those who may be interested in running an Alpha Course in their own parish. The days are:

    * Saturday 7th July 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at St Joan of Arc Catholic School, High St, Rickmansworth WD3 1HG

    * Saturday 14th July 10:00 am-4:00 pm at Vaughan House, 46 Francis Street, London SW1P 1QN

    The Alpha Introduction Day is an opportunity to learn how Alpha can be a tool for evangelisation in your parish. Through hospitality, sharing and open conversation Alpha introduces people to the initial proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ – the kerygma. Pope Francis says, ‘Nothing is more solid, profound, secure, meaningful and wisdom-filled than that initial proclamation.’ (Evangelii Gaudium, 165)
    During the Introduction Day participants will learn how to effectively run in their parish the series of sessions that make up Alpha. Open to people from different backgrounds, Alpha has something for everyone, whether it is a member of the parish who wants to know more about their faith, or someone who is hearing the ‘Good News’ for the first time and wants to learn more. Through the sharing of a meal, the use of video talks and small group discussion, Alpha is also an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and build friendships.
    Alpha is widely used in Catholic parishes across the world. Alpha helps the parish to become an evangelising community, and to foster personal encounters and relationships with Jesus through the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Alpha engages lay people in the life and mission of the Church, developing missionary disciples and helping to establish collaborative parish leadership.
