Day 1 – Arrival in Lourdes
Today marked the beginning of the 2026 Westminster Lourdes Pilgrimage. Around 700 pilgrims travelled from across the United Kingdom to Lourdes by plane and train. Each pilgrim brought with them their own prayers, intentions and hopes for this special time of pilgrimage. We are also very pleased to have Archbishop Richard Moth joining the team for the next 9 days.

After months of preparation, it was wonderful to see pilgrims arriving safely and being welcomed by our dedicated team of volunteers, Redcaps, seminarians, clergy, doctors, nurses and support staff, who helped everyone settle in after their journey.
Pilgrims are now beginning to settle into Lourdes, as they prepare for the days ahead. With the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes at the heart of the pilgrimage, there is a sense of excitement for prayer, service and moments of grace that await.
Please continue to keep all our pilgrims, volunteers and the whole Westminster Lourdes Pilgrimage in your prayers.
