A Day of Unity, Reconciliation and Grace in Lourdes.

The third day of our Lourdes Pilgrimage 2026 has been one of the most memorable and spiritually enriching days of our journey so far. The morning began with the International Mass in the Basilica of St Pius X, where thousands of pilgrims from across the world gathered in a beautiful celebration of the Eucharist.

Archbishop Richard Moth joined the Bishop of Lourdes, together with many other bishops, priests, religious and faithful, demonstrating the universality of the Church. Despite the vast number of people present, the celebration was exceptionally well organised. Our dedicated Redcaps played an important role, assisting as Communion locators and helping pilgrims receive Holy Communion with reverence and care.

Later in the day, pilgrims experienced one of the most moving moments of the pilgrimage: Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament combined with the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In the quiet presence of the Holy Eucharist, many took the opportunity to receive God’s mercy through Confession. The atmosphere was one of profound silence, peace and prayer, as pilgrims encountered Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament while opening their hearts to His forgiveness.

Archbishop Richard Moth was also present hearing confessions. His presence was a powerful reminder of the Church’s pastoral care and the importance of this sacrament in the life of every Christian.

As our pilgrimage continues, it is becoming increasingly clear that Lourdes is much more than a destination. It is a place of encounter, healing and conversion, where hearts are opened, faith is renewed, and pilgrims begin to experience the quiet yet profound power of God’s grace through the loving intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes.
