The local Hemel Hempstead Caritas group, which operates independently of Caritas Westminster, have been awarded a certificate of appreciation for the important work they are doing in the community. Deacon Simon explained why:
'The four parishes of Hemel Hempstead were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the local council at their annual Christmas Caritas tea party. The pooling of resources by the four parishes in Hemel Hempstead has meant that, in partnership with the local council, they have been able to provide a monthly Sunday afternoon Tea Party for the elderly. This is the second year that Decorum Community Trust has awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Caritas Hemel which is a great endorsement of the work carried out by the many volunteers.'
That the work of Caritas is recognised by the wider community is very encouraging, and we would like to congratulate the Caritas group for all their hard work and achievements this year.
