We announce the news of the death Fr Richard Marriott on Tuesday 2nd May 2023. Fr Richard died peacefully at Grantham District Hospital where he had been admitted the previous week.
Fr Richard was born on 20th June 1938 and ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Westminster on 7th January 1995. He retired in 2003 and had been living in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Before being received as a Catholic he had ministered as a member of the clergy of the Church of England.
Condolences are extended to Fr Richard's family and friends.
We pray for the repose of his soul with the words of Psalm 129 (130):
Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord,
Lord, hear my voice!
O let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleading.
If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt,
Lord, who would survive?
But with you is found forgiveness:
for this we revere you.
My soul is waiting for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the Lord
more than watchman for daybreak.
Because with the Lord there is mercy
and fulness of redemption,
Israel indeed he will redeem
from all its iniquity.
