On Sunday 6 December, the Second Sunday of Advent, we celebrate Catholic Bible Sunday, which provides an opportunity for everyone to give thanks for the gift of the Bible, and also invites us to deepen our understanding of its message. The celebration of the Sunday, this year, comes just days before Pope Francis will open the Jubilee Year of Mercy, during which everyone is invited to read again Luke’s Gospel, also known as the ‘Gospel of Mercy’.
