Archbishop Richard Moth is asking the whole diocese to pray for vocations to the priesthood.
We know that it is from amongst his people that God calls his shepherds, and so, between Good Shepherd Sunday and Pentecost, parishes are encouraged to bring their parishioners together for a Holy Hour each week using the resources below, devoted to the following intentions:
Week One
Pray for men to be open to God's call to the priesthood.
Week Two
Pray for those currently discerning the priesthood.
Week Three
Pray for seminarians in their formation.
Week Four
Pray for your parish's priests and all clergy serving in the diocese.
During your Holy Hour, you may wish to make use of the diocesan prayer for vocations:
God our Father,
You give us the Sacraments as signs
and instruments of your love and mercy.
Draw from amongst your disciples
men who are willing to serve your Church generously
as priests in the Diocese of Westminster,
to minister to your people and to proclaim the Gospel to all.
Send your Spirit to guide and strengthen them,
to be their companion on the journey,
as they discern your will for their lives.
This prayer we make through Christ our Lord.
Amen
