Today marked the seventh and final day of the Westminster Lourdes Pilgrimage, bringing to a close a week full of countless beautiful moments.

This morning, our pilgrims gathered once again in the Basilica of St. Pius X to celebrate Mass with Archbishop Richard Moth. At the conclusion of the Mass, Fr. Andrew announced the dates for next year’s Westminster Lourdes Pilgrimage, which will take place from 16–23 July 2027, inviting everyone to continue this special tradition of pilgrimage to Lourdes, and for new pilgrims as well.

Following Mass, the entire pilgrimage gathered before the candles that had been placed for the Diocese of Westminster and for the Redcaps. The diocesan candle is presented to Our Lady and burns as a visible sign of the prayers and intentions of the Diocese of Westminster. Archbishop Richard Moth led everyone in a beautiful prayer, entrusting our diocese, our pilgrims, and all those who had asked for our prayers to Our Lady of Lourdes.

Echoing the words of Archbishop Richard Moth in his homily, this pilgrimage has, for many of us, been a truly transformative experience. As we return home, we are called not to leave that experience behind in Lourdes, but to carry the love, hope, and faith we have encountered here into our daily lives, sharing Christ’s love with those we meet and living out the Gospel in our families, workplaces, schools, and communities.

As the pilgrimage comes to an end, we give thanks for all who made this week possible—our pilgrims, volunteers, Redcaps, medical team, clergy, seminarists and chaplains, and EVERYONE who took part on it in the smallest way possible.
