The annual Two Cathedrals Blessed Sacrament Procession took place on Saturday 29th September.

Beginning at Westminster Cathedral, the procession with clergy and faithful made its way across Lambeth Bridge to St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, where Benediction was given.

The tradition began in thanksgiving for Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the UK in 2010 and has continued as a sign of unity between the two dioceses. This year, the annual act of witness held special meaning as it took place on a few weeks after the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress, where Cardinal Nichols had explained that in a Blessed Sacrament Procession, we ‘carry this visible, sacramental reality of the life-giving death of Jesus into our world.’
