The Secretary of State for Education, Gillian Keagan, has visited St Gregory’s Catholic Science College in the London Borough of Brent, a national Lead Behaviour School that has been recognised by Ofsted as an Outstanding school. The purpose of her visit was to see, first hand, how schools identified as having Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) are managing.

During her visit, Gillian Keagan met pupils and complimented them on their excellent behaviour and their ambition to succeed. Pupils’ academic success at both A Level and GCSE is amongst the best in the country for non-selective schools. The Secretary of State was also impressed by the pupils’ community action to improve their local environment, such as leading community litter picking events and campaigning for improvements to their school buildings.

Gillian Keagan complimented the staff at St Gregory’s for maintaining outstanding teaching and pupil behaviour despite the disruption caused by the identification of RAAC in its main school building.
