Close to 200 performers made this yearโs Dance Show at St Benedictโs School, Ealing, the best ever! The theme was โOut of this Worldโ and pupils from across the school took part. Ruth Kestenbaum, who choreographed the performance, produced a wonderful show which mesmerised the audience.
Year 2 started the programme with โHocus Pocusโ, a modern dance routine with witches and wizards, broomsticks and glow-in-the-dark wands. Next up were Year 7 with โFunny Bonesโ, a hip-hop skeleton dance, followed by โFang-tasticโ, a commercial dance routine about vampires performed by Year 9 pupils. Year 10 presented โFairy Dustโ, a commercial and jazz piece about fairies combined with ballet and Years 3 and 4 combined for โMarvel-iciousโ, a modern dance routine about superheroes and super villains. Just before the interval Years 5 and 6 performed โFly Me to the Moonโ, a dance routine encompassing modern jazz and hip-hop involving astronauts and aliens.

The senior students started proceedings after the interval with โThe Hauntedโ a contemporary dance about ghosts and, continuing that theme, the youngest performers from Year 1 presented โGhostbustin', a modern dance piece involving ghostbusters. Year 8 performed โCelestial Combatโ, a commercial pop routine combined with modern jazz and they were followed by Years 10 and 11 with โArcade Anticsโ, modern jazz, martial arts and hip-hop combined in this dance about video games. A fantastic programme was closed by Years 3 and 4 with a performance of โInter-Galacticaโ, a hip hop dance featuring Stormtroopers, Darth Vade, Luke Skywalker and Yoda.
