On Wednesday 19 August the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School will be launching a brand new Digital Archive as part of the ongoing commemorations to mark the 100th anniversary of the school.

This online Archive will contain hundreds of original documents and photographs from throughout the Vaughan’s history, with users able to search for items to view online or download as a PDF document. The school has been producing annual magazines since 1938, with even more student publications, prayer books and event programmes issued throughout the years. Punishment books and team photographs are also to be included, as well as the original evacuation plans from the school’s evacuation to Beaumont College in Windsor during World War II.

A team of volunteer archivists have spent months searching, sorting and scanning items from the school’s collection, with documents also retrieved from external archives such as The National Archives, London Metropolitan Archives and the British Library.

The Digital Archive will be available to access through the School’s website: www.cvms.co.uk.
