The Most Rev Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster blessed a new Jumbulance on Saturday 10 March at Westminster Cathedral.

The Jumbulance, dedicated to St Bernadette of Lourdes, ensures people in need can continue to enjoy a pilgrimage to Lourdes.

Archbishop Vincent Nichols performed the blessing of the Jumbulance outside Westminster Cathedral before celebrating a Mass at 3.00pm.

The Jumbulance, provided by the charity Across, is a specially designed coach ambulance, which provides safe and comfortable transport for travellers with disabilities and illnesses.

The Jumbulance is the latest in a long line of vehicles built to take those most in need on pilgrimage to Lourdes.

The idea of specialist transport to Lourdes was first conceived by the founders of Acrossโ€™ predecessor charity, The Across Trust.

The new Across jumbulance is fitted with all the facilities needed to care for those most in need, including a lift, seven beds, a fully accessible toilet and a kitchen.
