Lourdes 2019 Diocesan Pilgrimage dates revised
The dates for the Westminster Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage have been confirmed as 20th to 26th July 2019. Please put these dates in your diary, and consider ways in which fundraising may be undertaken to help send a sick pilgrim, a Medical Team volunteer, helper or a youth volunteer from your Parish to Lourdes with the Diocese.
Donations to the Diocesan Lourdes pilgrimage can also be made to the Virgin Money Giving page, just click here
Lourdes Pilgrimage wheelchairs wanted
During the pilgrimage in 2018 there were only just enough wheelchairs to cope with the needs of assisted pilgrims. Next year's pilgrimage in 2019 will be larger in numbers and hiring extra chairs is a costly and complex option which is best avoided.
If your parishioners have a wheelchair that is no longer needed, or know of someone or an organisation with an unused surplus of wheelchairs, this would be welcome and collection can be arranged. Please contact the Pilgrimage Office on 0207 798 9173 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham
22nd September 2018
Pilgrims from Parishes across the Diocese joined Cardinal Vincent and his and Auxiliary Bishops for this year’s Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham, on Saturday 22nd September.
The theme of the pilgrimage this year centred on the World Meeting of Families in Dublin and the Eucharistic Congress in Liverpool. The pilgrimage also took place close to the Feast day of Our Lady of Walsingham and a special blessing for families and the family home was given after Benediction at the Abbey Grounds in Walsingham.
A prayerful Holy Mile and Rosary Procession gave all those who participated in the day a chance to listen to the voice of God.
From 2018 to 2020, the statue of Our Lady from the Slipper Chapel at the Catholic National Shrine in Walsingham will be taken to each Cathedral in England as part of the preparation for the rededication of England as the Dowry of Mary in 2020.
First Tuesday Lourdes Reunion Mass
The next reunion Mass will take place on Tuesday 4th December at 6.35pm in the Crypt of Westminster Cathedral (enter through Westminster Cathedral Choir School car park on Ambrosden Avenue). Mass will be followed by a social and drinks in the Windsor Castle pub on Francis Street. All are welcome.
