On Saturday 27 September, Pope Leo sent Cardinal Nichols an Apostolic Blessing for the Diocese of Westminster and its people, on the occasion of the Feast Day of St Vincent de Paul, ahead of the Diocese's 175th Anniversary:
Please be assured of my spiritual closeness, dear brother, on this feast day of St Vincent de Paul, your patron in heaven. Praying that Almighty God will sustain you in good health and fervent faith, I happily impart my Apostolic Blessing to you and the flock entrusted to your care, as a pledge of joy and peace in Christ our Lord.
