Walsingham Garden Reflection

A beautifully sunny day greeted us as we arrived in Walsingham for the annual CDA (Catholic Deaf Association) pilgrimage.   Deaf people from around the country gathered, catching up on news and sharing in prayer and fellowship and enjoying time with God, with Mary and with each other.  We were joined by many others including members of the Welwyn Garden City parish for a wonderful day.

Starting in village we were led through a reflection on the glorious mysteries of the rosary by Peter McDonough.  Peter encouraged us to slow down and spent time in pray by being silent.  To think about what is truly important in life and to base our life, as Mary did, on faith and love.

After walking the mile to the shrine we were led in a reconciliation service by Fr Paul Fletcher SJ. What have I done for Jesus Christ? What am I doing for Jesus Christ and what will I do for Jesus Christ?  Not easy questions to answer.

Our day finished with Bishop Paul Hendricks celebrating Mass at the shrine in Word and Sign along with Mgr Philip Shryane, Fr Norbert Fernandes and Fr Paul Fletcher SJ.

Our Lady of Walsingham, pray for us.
