On Sunday 8th May, over 500 people gathered from all over London to join in a street procession of the Black Madonna of Willesden, and the Pokrova Ikon (Mother of Protection) from the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Duke Street.

Fr Stephen Willis, rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Willesden, said, 'We were moved as we listened to the Homily from Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski, the Ukranian Catholic Eparch of the Holy Family in Exile.

'At the end of the procession the Shrine Church was packed for Solemn Benediction, as we implored the Prince of Peace for an end to war, and the gift of Peace, and then asked the intercession of Our Lady of Willesden for the Protection of our City.'
