The Diocese of Westminster is delighted to announce that John Paul (JP) Morrison - currently Headmaster of St Ignatius Catholic College, Enfield – has been appointed to the post of Director of Education. He will take up the post on 1 January 2014.

In his role as Director of Education for the Diocese of Westminster JP Morrison will manage the strategic development, promotion and effectiveness of Catholic education in the Diocese. He will be responsible to the Archbishop and the Education Commission.

The Most Rev. Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, said:

“The post of the Director of Education is an important role as education represents a most significant aspect of the mission of the Church in this Diocese. I am committed to supporting governors, head teachers and all who work in our schools and colleges as they seek to maintain and development their Catholic identity in the delivery of an excellent standard of teaching and learning.”

“I welcome the appointment of JP Morrison to this role and look forward to his work in further developing the education of our children in the schools and colleges of the Diocese of Westminster.”

Since 2008 JP Morrison has been Headmaster of St Ignatius College, a Roman Catholic comprehensive school in the trusteeship of The Society of Jesus, and has over 20 years’ experience of Catholic education in London schools. He is married with four children who have attended Diocesan schools and is an active member of his local parish Our Lady and St Joseph, Kingsland.

Speaking of his appointment, JP Morrison said:
