Thanks to the support of more than 100 parishes who have already taken part in Growing in Faith, some social outreach projects are underway:

Our food banks, Contact the Elderly and Magic Breakfast projects are gathering momentum. In the area of food banks alone, the project in Borehamwood has encouraged similar efforts in Bow, Finchley, Sudbury and St. Alban’s.

At St Joseph’s Centre, in Hendon, nearly 200 people with intellectual disabilities are developing life and learning skills, making friendships and enjoying a sense of belonging. Our Saturday clubs provide family support and our telephone scheme reaches people we only see occasionally.
Within the next year, we will have five field workers ‘on the ground’ assisting parishes to establish their own Caritas projects.
