Tonight we proclaim with joy the birth of Jesus, Saviour of the world. We do so in many ways.
This evening, with this Maundy Mass, we begin our intense celebration of the Easter mystery. In many ways these three days are one celebration, starting this evening and continuing tomorrow in our afternoon liturgy and coming to its climax at the Easter Vigil and Easter Morning Mass. This is one feast, one great drama of the mystery of our salvation.
Today, in our meeting, we have been reflecting upon the journey of faith, the journey we all make towards maturity in faith and in life. This journey, we know, is made up of many steps and has both its human and spiritual dimensions.
Today's Mass is such an important event. And it is a joyful, blessed and amazing even.
