The fourth day of the pilgrimage began with Mass being celebrated at what is called the ‘Cathedral of the Trees’ Cité Saint-Pierre. It is a beautiful set-up of a cathedral high up in the mountains, soothing to the soul with lush green scenery, the word of God broken in its midst. After Mass, Seminarian Daniel Daley spoke about how he received his call and the journey since he said ‘Yes’ urging others to discern their vocations. In the afternoon, Cardinal Vincent visited the St Frai community where the malades were eager to see and meet him. Cardinal Vincent was quick to comfort and befriend them, singing along with an elderly man listening to music on his CD player, to make his evening brighter.
The Blessed Sacrament procession was held in the evening with Cardinal Vincent leading it, all the pilgrims on their knees, with heads bowed down in constant fervour for the Lord.
Just after dinner was a sing song session, where the young and old all alike sang to their hearts' content songs ranging from latest pop charts of today back to the songs from the 70s. The celebration was intended to congratulate the Redcaps for their service and to mark an informal end to our pilgrimage this year.
