The third day of the pilgrimage began with the the International Mass which brought together people of different nations speaking different languages together echoing their faith in Mary, for a marvellous scene of love and harmony.

At midday the medical team together with the carers, and malades travelled to the picturesque mountain village of St Savin. Mass was celebrated in the old church atop the mountain, with the importance of gratitude in our daily lives emphasised in the homily. The sick pilgrims were thankful to the organisers for making such an event possible as one of them said, ‘It is not everyday that we see such beauty of mother nature’. After Mass ice creams were served and the trip back down to Lourdes was filled with memories to cherish and look forward to for the next pilgrimage in 2018.

Later in the evening were the Stations of the Cross done uniquely in a meditative manner by picture depictions of each station with soul stirring hymns and text.

In this video message, Cardinal Vincent explains one of the main features of our pilgrimage this year, the statue of Our Lady of Willesden which has travelled from the Church of Our Lady of Willesden in North London, how the Virgin Mary carried the light of the world in her womb to deliver God's people from sin.
