Arrival!
Following a a very pleasant early morning flight, the Diocesan Pilgrimage arrived at Tel Aviv Airport at 17:00 local time (3pm British time). Arriving to glorious sunshine we drove to Tiberias overlooking the Sea of Galilee and arrived at the Golan Hotel in the hills above the Sea. All enjoyed the first sample of Israeli cuisine before settling down for a calm first evening in the hotel lounge.
From our vantage point on the hill, we are all looking forward to the sunrise over the Sea which promises to be something special. Our group will begin the pilgrimage proper with a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee reliving Jesus' calming the storm and calling his first disciples from the fishermen. Later, we will visit the Primacy of Peter, Tagba, Capernaum and the Mount of the Beatitudes.
