Miranda Sofia, a Year 4 pupil at St Augustine’s Priory, has just published her first book, Poems and Stories for Little People (written by one).
The nine-year-old author’s book is an illustrated collection of her vivid and imaginative work which ranges from light-hearted tales about friendship and family life to intriguing poetry about the world around her.
Miranda’s lessons have often been the inspiration behind her poems and stories, such as her work on fables, the structure of poetry and even science. The talks which visiting authors have paid to the school have also played a part, encouraging Miranda’s belief that she, too, could be an author.
Ms Keane, Head of Preps and Pre-Preps at St Augustine’s Priory, said: ‘Poems and Stories for Little People is a wonderful achievement, we are all immensely proud of Miranda’.
Miranda is the youngest author to be published by Wisdom House Publishing. St Augustine’s is rightly proud of her achievement and how it demonstrates the school's ethos that ‘Our Girls Will Change the World’.
