Bright and early on Saturday 21st May, 25 of us met together to begin our pilgrim journey to Walsingham, a welcome opportunity especially, in this Holy Year or Mercy.
The theme this year in Walsingham is ‘Mary, Mother of Mercy’.
On arrival in the village, we met once again with pilgrims from around the UK in the garden to begin praying the rosary (mysteries of light).
We then continued our journey on foot, walking the last mile to the Shrine.
During the Reconciliation Service and Mass we were introduced to the idea of the Trinity as a perfect example of a perfect relationship, in perfect communion, full of love, forgiveness and mercy. We were encouraged to think about how we can follow God’s example, in all our relationships, with Him, our families and all our neighbours, each of us ready and open to receiving mercy and willing to be merciful, remembering that God is in each of us.
