The Caritas Volunteer Service: what is it?

At our Volunteer Evening on 7 June, we introduced our new volunteer service for the Catholic community in the Diocese of Westminster. If you didn't manage to make it to the evening, you can find out more about the service below.

What is the Caritas Volunteer Service?

The Caritas Volunteer Service makes volunteering as easy as possible for the Catholic community by linking volunteers directly with available opportunities. It is brought to you by Caritas Westminster in partnership with the Jewish Volunteer Network.

How does it work?

Organisations and parishes looking for volunteers can post opportunities on the Caritas Westminster website. You will then be able to browse through and apply for opportunities that you are interested in. Your application will go directly to the organisation, who will then contact you for an interview.

Who is it for?

The Caritas Volunteer Service is open to everyone who wants to volunteer. You can be any age, of any faith or none, and of any ability.

I don’t have any volunteering experience, does that matter?

No! Everyone has skills that would be perfect for a volunteer role, you just need to find the right one. It could be anything from making the tea, helping with admin, or even managing a project.

When can I start using it?

The Caritas Volunteer Service will go live on the Caritas website in October 2016, and we will be launching the full service in January 2017.

What if I want to start volunteering as soon as possible?
