St George’s Catholic School hosted their annual Christmas Party for local senior citizens on Tuesday 5th December. Guests from local parishes and residential homes were warmly welcomed to the school for this event which has proved extremely popular over the past six years and is anticipated with great excitement by guests, pupils and staff.
Over 115 guests aged between 65 and 96 were treated to carol singing as well as a selection of songs from the forthcoming school production of ‘Oliver’. The school’s Food Technology room was a hive of activity as Year 11 students prepared a variety of home-made treats including sausage rolls, cheese scones, cream teas as well as light and fluffy Victoria sponge cakes for the guests. Sixth formers were on hand to serve guests. Other activities in the festively decorated hall included bingo, a raffle and a sing-a-long.
