In is with sad news we annouce the death of Fr David Henry Kelly on Friday 28 February 2026, in hospital in Valencia, Spain. His funeral will take place on Wednesday 4 March.
Fr David was born on 9 January 1953 and ordained on 5 July 1977. Most of his priestly ministry was with the Army, serving as a Chaplain.
Fr David had been living in Spain for several years and was not engaged in public ministry. Condolences are extended to his family, friends and those who remember him from his ministry in the Diocese and in the Army.
We pray for the repose of Fr David’s soul:
Almighty and eternal God,
hear our prayers for your son whom you have called from this world to yourself.
Grant him light, happiness and peace.
Let him pass in safety through the gates of death, and live forever with all your saints in the light you promised to Abraham and to all his descendants in faith.
Guard him from all harm and on that great day of resurrection and reward raise him up with all your saints.
Pardon his sins and give him eternal life in your kingdom.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
