It is with sadness that we announce the news of the death, yesterday evening 28th March, of Fr Bryan Jones.  Fr Bryan died peacefully at the Royal London Hospital following admission earlier this month.  While in hospital he received the Sacrament of the Sick, and at the time of his death he was consoled with prayers offered and shared with him by telephone, necessary due to the restrictions at this time.

Fr Bryan was born on 28th September 1945 and ordained to the priesthood on 15th December 2004 for the Diocese of Karwar, India as a member of the Neo Catechumenal Way.  He served as Priest in Charge at Ogle Street and retired to live at Mile End in 2018.  Funeral arrangements will be made in accordance with the protocols necessary due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sympathy is extended to Fr Bryan’s family and friends, and to the clergy and parishioners of Ogle Street and Mile End, and to members of his Neo Catechumenate community.

Fr Bryan's funeral will take place on 8th April. Please pray for the repose of his soul.

We pray for the repose of Fr Bryan’s soul:
Lord Jesus, our Redeemer,
you willingly gave yourself up to death so that all people might be saved and pass from death into a new life.
Listen to our prayers, look with love on your people who mourn and pray for Fr Bryan.
Lord Jesus, holy and compassionate, forgive his sins.
By dying you opened the gates of life for those who believe in you.
Do not let our brother be parted from you, but by your glorious power give him light, joy and peace in heaven
where you live for ever and ever.

May the soul of this faithful priest rest in peace.  Amen.
