The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, has called for a day of fasting, abstinence, and prayer for peace and reconciliation in the Holy Land.
He invites all parishes and religious communities to pray on Tuesday, 17th October, the feast of St Ignatius of Antioch. Cardinal Pizzaballa has encouraged prayer times to be organised with Eucharistic Adoration and the recitation of the Rosary to Our Blessed Virgin Mary, in a simple, sober and communal manner.
Following on from his statement earlier today on the situation in the Holy Land, Cardinal Vincent invites all the faithful in our diocese to join in solidarity and prayer with our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land, in our homes and parishes on that day.
Our Lady, pray for them.
St Ignatius of Antioch, pray for them.
