Homiletics and the New Evangelisation, is a day conference designed to help clergy in a vital part of their everyday ministry, namely the homily.

The day is specifically for deacons and priests within the dioceses in range of London, with invitations being extended also to men in formation for ordained ministry.   

The conference will be at St Mary's University College, Twickenham, on Wednesday September 19th.

Presentations include:

  • Homily and Catechesis for the New Evangelisation
  • The Homily since the Second Vatican Council
  • Evangelisation at the Margins: Preaching in the Court of the Gentiles. 

Workshops include:

  • Preparing the Sunday Homily
  • Preaching and Lectio Divina
  • Preaching at Infant Baptisms
  • Preaching Techniques that Engage. 

The day will be introduced by Archbishop Bernard Longley of Birmingham, Member of the newly formed Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelisation.
