Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster

Pray for our Priests on Maundy Thursday

Each year we gather in Westminster Cathedral to celebrate the Chrism Mass and pray for our priests as they renew the promises they made at their ordination.

As the pandemic prevents us from gathering in our churches, we are not celebrating the Chrism Mass during Holy Week. However, as the  Mass of the Lord's Supper on Maundy Thursday will be celebrated in all parish churches, our priests have been asked to spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament after the Mass and to renew their priestly commitment.

Cardinal Vincent invites us to join in during this time to pray for our priests, who give their lives to serve the Lord and his people, that they may be faithful and generous. He asks too for our prayers for him.
