Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster

Cardinal Vincent Speaks in Support of Asylum Seekers

As the human tragedy of the asylum seekers arriving at Europe's borders continued to unfold, Cardinal Vicent spoke to ITV news on 2 September about the crisis.

During the interview, the Cardinal shared that members of the British public had told him it was 'a disgrace that we were letting people die and seeing bodies on the beaches when together Europe is such a wealthy place'.

He urged governments to see the 'human face of this suffering' and to do what is necessary to alleviate it.
