On Monday 1st February 2021, following news of a military coup in Myanmar, Cardinal Vincent wrote to Cardinal Charles Bo, Archbishop of Yangon, Myanmar, offering his personal greetings and assurances of his prayers and those of the Catholic community. In the message, Cardinal Vincent writes:
'Today I wish to send you my personal greetings and assure you of a special place in my prayers and in those of the entire Catholic community. '
