Following the news of Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski’s appointment as an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours, Cardinal Nichols has issued the following statement:
I congratulate Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski on his appointment as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. This is a fitting and well-deserved recognition of his outstanding service to the Ukrainian people.
In particular, his tireless efforts—together with the Eparchy of the Holy Family and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain—in establishing the Ukrainian Welcome Centre have offered not only practical help but also hope and dignity to those fleeing the horrors of war.
This recognition by His Majesty the King is a testament to the impact of that vital work.
