Year of Faith

Please find enclosed with this bulletin a copy of the Archbishop’s recent letter on the Year of Faith. The document which accompanied his letter was mainly relevant to parishes and so we have produced a supplementary document giving some indication as to how schools might respond to the Year of Faith. Please bring both documents to the attention of the school community and use as a stimulus for your planning for the year ahead.

CPD Booklet 2012 to 2013

The new booklet, which gives details of the courses on offer from the Diocese for the next academic year, is available on the website and a hard copy is enclosed with this mailing.

The focus of the courses is the ‘Year of Faith’. New courses for Governors are included as part of a series of modules. The new offer also involves a larger number of training opportunities to support succession planning. This has become an important priority for the Diocesan Education Service in response to the high number of senior appointments. As previously there is also the offer of customised courses delivered to groups.

Racial Justice Sunday

Racial Justice Sunday falls so early in the academic year it is often difficult to prepare for it. Please be aware of the date for celebration Racial Justice Sunday in your schools. Also, this year, September 26th is a wonderful opportunity to teachers to engage with the issues at the SEMINAR. (Please see attached flyer and booking arrangements)
