On Saturday 24 November Mgr Mark O’Toole, Rector of Allen Hall seminary, will be leading a retreat day at Allen Hall for men aged 18+ who are discerning a possible calling to the priesthood. Mgr Mark, reflecting on the teaching of the Second Vatican Council on priestly formation, recently wrote: “The priest is neither a celebrity, nor a social worker, nor a public relations officer for any ideology... Rather, he is the sacramental presence of Christ in the Church and, through the Church, to the world.” The retreat will be a time to reflect on the identity and mission of the priest today.

For all those who take the risk to open this particular door on their journey through the Year of Faith and attend the day, it will give them a powerful opportunity to ask if this is the particular calling to which God is inviting them. The day will offer the opportunity to meet others exploring this same path as well as seminarians who have already made the commitment to test their priestly vocation.

There will also be time for prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.

There is no charge for the day but there is a limited number of spaces on the day so it is essential to register in advance. To register, please contact Fr Richard at richardnesbitt@rcdow.org.uk or phone: 020 7349 5624.
