Austim Forum is looking for volunteers for free classes which are open all migrants, asylum seekers and refugees. This is a great opportunity to gain skills which are needed to help people affected by the refugee crisis!
Austim Forum offer English lessons which run 2pm-4pm on Tuesdays and 6pm-7.15pm on Thursdays. There are breaks for Christmas and Easter, and in the summer there are less formal classes about living in London. Further classes are also being planned to help individuals find employment, but to run these Austin Forum needs lots of volunteers!

Volunteers are needs for the following roles:
- Teaching English
Time commitment: Either Tuesdays or Thursdays
Skills needed: Experience in teaching or knowledge of other languages is desirable, but if you are interested and think you might have the skills to teach then please apply.
- Working with a Deaf student
Time commitment: Thursdays only
Skills needed: You need to be able to lip read and speak English at an intermediate level
- Conversation Partner
Time commitment: 30 minutes-1 hour for one student. Weekdays from 10am. Exact time can be arranged with each individual student.
Skills: If you are happy to chat to someone in English so that they can practice their language skills, please apply.
- CV workshop
Time commitment: TBC depending on volunteer schedules
Skills: These workshops will guide people new to the on how to write a CV, so writing skills are necessary.
- Form-filling and letter translation
Time commitment: TBC depending on volunteer schedules
Skills: Languages other than English. Please get in touch more information on which languages are needed.
- Basic computer skills course
Time commitment: After Christmas - exact times TBC depending on volunteer schedules
Skills: IT skills, ability to explain basic computer skills
