The Church of St Anselm and St Cecilia in Lincoln Inn Fields hosted the Papal Knights and Dames on the evening of 3 October. They had come for the annual celebration of Mass in honour of St Gregory the Great, Blessed Pius IX and St Sylvester, the patrons of three of the Pontifical Orders.

The principal celebrant was the Rt Rev Richard Moth, Bishop of the Forces, who was joined by Mgr Vladimir Felzmann, the Chaplain to the Papal Knights, and Mgr John Conneely and Fr David Barnes. The choir on this occasion was the Schola Cantorum of the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School.

The Association of Papal Orders of Great Britain consists of members, mostly lay Catholics, who have been honoured by the Vatican State as either Knight or Dame ‘in recognition of an individual’s pre-eminent service to their faith, community, or the work of the Holy See on a local, national or international level.’
