On 20 June, the Very Rev. Adolfo Nicolás SJ, Superior General of the Society of Jesus, celebrated Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street. Concelebrants at the Mass included the Parish Priest, Fr Andrew Cameron-Mowat SJ and Provincial, Fr Dermot Preston SJ.

In his Homily the Superior-General spoke of the Gospel call for us to transform all experiences in our lives, good or bad, into ‘journeys of wisdom’. Fr Adolfo spoke of the desire of St Ignatius to train the heart and transform the subconscious so that our lives and choices are directed by the Gospel. Fr Adolfo said how Heythrop College, which is celebrating its 400 anniversary this year, must continue to teach this through its work and example.

Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, will be celebrating Mass at the Carmelite Church, Kensington on Saturday 21 June as part of Heythrop’s anniversary celebrations.
