On the evening of 3 September, Bishop Alan Hopes of East Anglia, formerly Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster, celebrated Mass at Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane, along with Bishop Robert Byrne, Auxiliary in Birmingham, and Bishop Michael Barber of Oakland California.

A special highlight of the Mass was the blessing of the image of Our Lady of Walsingham and the newly restored Lady Chapel.

Mgr John Armitage, the Rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, preached the homily, in which he reminded the congregation of the importance of remaining close to Jesus and following his precepts. After Mass, there was an opportunity for individuals to join the Walsingham Association and to be a part of the branch of the Association at Corpus Christi.
